Description

Responsible for ensuring the Security Department operations run smoothly and efficiently, IGT is seeking a Security Officer at our Las Vegas, NV location to maintain the physical security, enforcing, planning, and observing the facilities and coordinating the operations in uniformed work shifts, including ensuring proper documentation of activities.

Here is what a day in the life of a Security Officer looks like...

  • Maintain the physical security of personnel and property within local IGT facilities by enforcing all IGT security directives and regulations.

  • Recognize deviations from semi routine practices/information and notifiy senior personnel.

  • Prepare reports of all incidents.

  • Observe facilities from a fixed post or by patrolling on foot, monitor behavior and enforce security regulations.

  • Identify and apprehend violators as appropriate.

  • Communicate security violations or other threats to physical security (fire, disorder, any emergency).

  • Serve as first point of contact in emergency situations and serve as liaison to law enforcement, fire agency personnel, or emergency medical personnel form federal, state, or local agencies.

  • Prepare reports of all incidents involving criminal and security violations.

  • Receive, review and dispatch security service calls and ensure prompt and accurate assignment of personnel in response to calls.

  • Monitor security officer current assignments and ensure calls are resolved.

  • Document calls in the daily activity log.

  • Monitor access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and video surveillance systems, dispatches security personnel as appropriate.

  • Maintain an environment that is safe and secure in appearance and in actuality and provide professional and courteous service at all times.

  • Attempt to diffuse or prevent dangerous or criminal activities whenever possible.

  • Educate IGT employees with regard to security policies and regulations and assist IGT employees with issues relating to security (security escorts, providing directions, assisting with badging, etc.)

First Year Goals

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in security.

  • Must have certifications in HAZMAT (level 1), CPR certification and blood borne pathogen certification.

  • Must have knowledge of/skills in federal, state and local laws and ordinances, security/law enforcement equipment, security protective systems (fire alarms, building access, etc.) and CCTV experience.

  • Must be able to stand for a full shift and able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work overtime when needed.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • Must be able to obtain a gaming card.

Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree preferred.
