The primary responsibility of the Host Person – Nightlife is to be the first and last point of contact with Hotel/Casino guests and is responsible for greeting, seating and saying goodbye to guests while providing unmatched service in every interaction. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Host Person is responsible for providing exclusive guest service.
Maintains consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standard.
Greet, seats and then says goodbye to the guest upon their departure by using the guest’s name when known, and encourages them to return.
Assisting guests with reservations via phone and in person.
Maintains reservation list and negotiates table minimums based on volume and demand.
Communicate reservation and guest requests with the cocktail servers.
Assisting Manager with table management to maximize seating.
Assisting guest with special requests.
Addresses guests in a warm, friendly, positive and professional manner at all times.
Ensure that all controls with respect to alcohol consumption are adhered to at all times i.e. notifying management of intoxicated guests, etc.
Consistently maintains a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene adhering to Company appearance standards and the theme of the venue.
Fashion and style should stay current and in line with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management.
Provide accurate directions and information for guest inquires and is knowledgeable about all aspects of Venetian and Palazzo services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Company Standards of Conduct
All Venetian | Palazzo Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to communicate in English fluently and in a professional manner.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health card and Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
1 year work experience as host person in a sophisticated, high-end ultra-lounge or restaurant preferred.
Modeling experience a plus Exhibit phone etiquette, organizational skills, basic computer knowledge (incl. reservations management system) and food/wine service knowledge.
May be required to wear up to 4 inch high heels.
Requires the ability to multi-task, work efficiently and within a team environment.
Must have a basic knowledge of attractions/restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by The Venetian and The Palazzo.
Must be available to work all shifts; to include day, swing, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to:
Stand or walk a minimum of an eight hour shift wearing high heels.
Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the property
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and engaging environment and maintain a proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, loud noise, dust, cigarette/cigar smoke.
