Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Bartender – Nightlife is to ensure the bar is stocked and assists the Bartender with mixing and serving drinks as needed. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Bartender in delivering exceptional service to guests, by mixing and serving drinks, as needed, efficiently and in accordance with department specifications.

  • Provides unmatched service to guests at all times.

  • Proactively seeks guest service opportunities.

  • Maintains, stocks, and supplies the bar as needed.

  • Performs monthly liquor inventory and helps communicate to management about ordering needs.

  • Knowledge and use of correct cleaning chemicals for cleaning of barware, in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements

  • Is responsible for ensuring that the beverage preparation areas and equipment are kept clean and free of debris to comply with Clark County Health Codes

  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquires and is knowledgeable about Las Vegas restaurants and attractions as well as all aspects of services, features, attractions, promotions and special events at The Venetian | The Palazzo

  • Communicates with management, hosts and Team Members to rectify any and all customer needs, comments or incidents

  • Attend all required training sessions.

  • Consistently maintains a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards and the theme of the venue. Fashion and techniques should stay current and in line with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management.

  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Company Standards of Conduct

All Venetian | Palazzo Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21+ years of age.

  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health Card, Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM), Gaming registration and a valid non-gaming registration.

  • One year experience as a bartender or barback in a high-end, upbeat ultra-lounge or restaurant.

  • Have interpersonal skills with a focused attention to guest needs to in order deal effectively with all business contacts.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all beverage functions including mixing of drinks and operation of all bar equipment

  • Knowledge and terminology of beer, wine, and spirits and bottle service.

  • Must be familiar with domestic and import beers, different types of wine, brand name spirits, and garnishments including proper cutting method

  • Knowledge and understanding of Alcohol Awareness training to include sale or service of alcohol

  • Must be able to demonstrate superior customer service skills by presenting a friendly, relaxed and professional demeanor

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail while meeting business demands

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

  • Have a basic knowledge of attractions/restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by the Venetian.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.

  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and engaging environment

  • Maintain a proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction

  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, loud noise, dust, cigarette/cigar smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property

  • Must be able to address guest situations with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness

  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods
