Advise students and families regarding financial aid programs offered by the federal, state, and local agencies. Provide information and interpretation of the rules, regulations, and application procedures for financial aid programs. Work as a part of a team assisting Financial Aid Officers (Senior Specialists) to review and process verification, awarding Title IV aid (with emphasis on processing loans), c-codes, SAP appeals, professional judgment requests, and Return of Title IV (R2T4) calculations.
Be an active contributor to discussions and recommends when appropriate to better meet the needs of the students. Serves as direct supervisor for designated staff. Provides training sessions on Title IV updates during quarterly staff training events.
Required Research and Training: Research and keep informed on all legislation and other information pertaining to student aid issues. Attend any/all training sessions held in Financial Aid & Scholarships or other locations. Complete the FSA Coach Web Training for 2017-18.
Public Relations: Conduct Financial Aid Presentations to current and prospective students and their parents. Serves as liaison to academic advisors/counselors as designated. Serves as committee member or representative on CSN task forces, work groups, or other committees as assigned.
External Committee Participation: Serve on divisional or campus-wide committees. Serves as committee member or representative on CSN task forces, work groups, or other committees as assigned.

Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 1 year of related professional experience.
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 5 years of related professional experience.
No Degree and 9 years of related professional experience.
Experience in a Financial Aid Office in higher education setting.
Knowledge of Title IV regulations governing Federal Financial Aid.
Proven experience with a diverse/multicultural student body and workforce.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in processing verification.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience packaging and/or repackaging student financial aid awards with emphasis on Federal Direct loans.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in resolving c-codes.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience reviewing and processing Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience reviewing and processing professional judgment.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience calculating Return of Title IV (R2T4).
Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
