College of Southern Nevada Communications Coordinator in Las Vegas, Nevada

Job Description:
The Communications Coordinator will provide direct program support for the Associate Vice President of Counseling, Advising and first year experience.
This position will work to facilitate the development and implementation of advising and counseling programs and special projects and will conduct research, develop content, collaborate with campus departments, and engage in activities that will facilitate communication, development, implementation and completion of special projects and advising and counseling initiatives.
The position will serve as the communication strategist and implement communication strategies that will be designed to enhance awareness of student services and programs, updates, changes, personnel, etc., and will work with the communications coordinator of the Office of Vice President of Student Affairs, ensuring maximization and consistency of messaging between advising and counseling and other divisions and employees at the college.
Works with other designated college personnel to assist with special events programming, presentation design, social media posting, website ownership, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Communications, Communication Studies, Journalism / Media Studies or related field.
Three years experience working a closely related field.
Experience writing/producing written documents/publications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of communication technology including social media to create communication content, blog posts, website and social media content.
Experience with research and reporting and preparing presentations, special events and workshops.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working with programs and collaborative projects related to higher education.
Experience successfully working with a diverse and multicultural workforce/student body.
Excellent teaming and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated expertise in Emotional Intelligence concepts
