This position provides essential administrative support to the Office of Accounts Payable as well as other work units within the Finance Department located at the NLV campus. Its responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide administrative support to the work units within Finance Division.
Answer phone calls and greet visitors.
Make referrals to appropriate functional areas or provide requested information as appropriate.
Receive, open, date stamp, and distribute office mail.
Perform periodic physical inventory to reconcile to the reports provided by the College asset management team.
Provide program support to the tax reporting specialist.
Review athletic corporate sponsorship agreement to compile information for unrelated business income tax analysis. Review general ledger data to identify any unreported sponsorship information.
Coordinate with other departments to gather information for facility rental reports. Reconcile department reports to general ledger.
Monitor College announcements of events featuring College prizes/awards to students and employees. Follow up with departments for recipient information for tax reporting.
Assist the NonResident Alien Tax Representative (NRA) by meeting with NRA employees and obtaining copies of their documents as needed.
Maintain complex databases and spreadsheets.
Review, code, and process a variety of clerical accounting documents. Ensure conformance to established formats, time frames, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting students/staff in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff;
OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a community college setting
Experience providing support to Accounts Payable
Familiarity with Non-Resident Alien Tax (NRAT) policies
